Nylon string
I have had several request over the years for a nylon string guitar. I have honored that request and have made a dozen or so, they were based off of my Canis Minor body. I did have a special request for one that more closely resembles a true classical guitar with the 12th fret at the body versus the 14th/15th fret location on my standard body. I went and redesigned the top of the guitar. The sound hole was moved, all ribs redesigned, and I slightly modified the slot peghead that I used on my original nylon strings. The neck is a full 2 inches wide, and the bridge was also widened for the increased spacing. Scale length was also increased from 25 inches to 25.6 inches. The end result, one happy customer who has given me his testimonial to use here.
Just Ask
If you don't ask, you don't get an answer. Technically, every instrument I build is custom as I give you options on almost every aspect of the instrument. However, if you want something that isn't covered in options ask. I may say no, but it could be yes also. Being willing to put down a deposit makes it happen quicker. I don't do direct copies of other people's instruments. I do versions of some vintage, but that is to show that it could be incorporated into newer version of those, I'd prefer to do my own models, but I have bills too. I will not do offensive guitars, and thankfully in 25 years, no one has really asked me to. Music should bring us together, not divide us.
To the master class of classical guitarist
Jon Kammerer customs (a true master Luthier) has created classical guitar perfection! I requested a guitar with a unique set up. I’ve been playing Jon’s Canis Minor for a couple years now and it’s still my favorite guitar. As a vintage guitar dealer (oldskulguitars.com) I come across alot of fun stuff, the Canis Minor has always been the go to! The body style creates warm tone with a beautiful high end. So we took the Canis Minor body, which is smooth, comfortable, a design genius and added a 12 fret classic nylon string set up, this guitar is a true masterpiece and will be the favorite of any nylon string player!
